Affordable Therapy

While many individuals have employment benefits that cover psychotherapy, we recognize that out-of-pocket costs of therapy can add up!  In an effort to make psychotherapy more affordable and accessible to the community, the Ingersoll Wellness Hub is a learning facility, hosting graduate-level psychotherapy interns who have flexible sliding scale rates.

Compassionate Care, Scaled to Your Needs

At the Ingersoll Wellness Hub, we believe that mental health care should be accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re proud to offer our Affordable Psychotherapy Program, where qualified master’s-level psychotherapy interns provide high-quality support at a reduced cost.

What is the Affordable Psychotherapy Program?

Our program is designed to offer meaningful and consistent support for individuals, couples, and families—without the financial strain. Psychotherapy interns are in the final stages of their professional training, having completed all of their graduate-level education. They are working under supervision as they accrue the clinical hours required for full licensure.

Each intern is supervised by our Clinical Director, Melanie Rodrigues, a Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. Melanie provides ongoing guidance, education, and oversight to ensure clients receive ethical, thoughtful, and effective care.

What Does It Cost?

We use a sliding scale to make therapy accessible to as many people as possible:

  • Fees are capped at $90 per session

  • Rates may scale down based on household income

  • We also consider extenuating financial circumstances

Whether you're managing a tight budget or facing unexpected life challenges, we're here to help you access the support you need.

Why Choose an Intern?

Working with a psychotherapy intern is an excellent option if you're looking for:

  • More frequent sessions (weekly or biweekly)

  • Longer-term care (intern placements run for 8 months)

  • Evidence-based, supervised therapy, on the leading edge of current techniques and approaches

  • Daytime and evening availability

Interns at the Ingersoll Wellness Hub are committed, compassionate, and well-trained. They’re eager to build strong therapeutic relationships and walk alongside clients in a consistent and meaningful way.

Important Eligibility Information

While this program is an excellent fit for many, there are some limitations to ensure client safety and intern readiness.
Unfortunately, this program is not suitable for clients who:

  • Are under 12 years of age

  • Are experiencing active or significant suicidal ideation or recent suicide attempts

  • Have a complex trauma history that requires a high level of clinical expertise and specialized care

If you're unsure whether this program is appropriate for you, we're happy to discuss your needs and help guide you toward the right level of support.

Supporting Student Learning

In exchange for reduced-cost therapy, we kindly ask that you consider supporting the educational experience of the intern. This may include:

  • Agreeing to session recordings, which may be reviewed by a supervisor or professor for training and evaluation purposes

  • Allowing the supervisor to sit in on a session from time to time for observation and feedback

These requests are always voluntary, and your comfort and consent are our priority. You are free to decline any such request at any time without affecting your care.

Is This Right for You?

If you're looking for high-quality, affordable therapy—and you're open to working with a skilled intern under professional supervision—this may be an excellent opportunity for you. We welcome individuals who are interested in receiving consistent support in a respectful, collaborative, and compassionate setting.
