Cindy Machado

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), MACP

Hey there, I’m Cindy! My clients often describe me as grounded, compassionate, and genuine — and I believe those qualities aren’t just “nice to have” in a therapist… they’re essential.

I bring over two decades of experience across early childhood, social work, and mental health settings, alongside lived experience that informs my understanding of trauma, emotional abuse, and coercive control. I help clients make sense of their inner experiences, name subtle relational dynamics, and rebuild safety and self-trust.

My approach is collaborative and proactive, with a focus on inner healing and nervous-system regulation. If you’re ready to begin healing from the inside out, I invite you to reach out and take that first step.

Focus Areas and Special Interests

Women's Health:  I have a special interest in women’s mental health across the lifespan, including premenstrual challenges (such as PMDD and PMS), Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), pre- and post-natal transitions, and perimenopause. These experiences can profoundly affect mood, self-esteem, and relationships — yet are often misunderstood or minimized. Drawing from both professional training and lived experience, I provide compassionate, holistic, and trauma-informed support that helps women and people with uteruses understand the mind-body connection, regulate emotions, and rebuild trust in their inner wisdom.

Developmental and Complex Trauma:   Many of my clients carry the emotional residue of developmental or attachment trauma — early experiences that shaped how they see themselves and relate to others. I help clients identify and heal these long-standing patterns through a parts-based, somatic, trauma-informed, and neuroaffirming approach, fostering safety, self-compassion, and reconnection with their authentic self.

Neurodivergence: I have a strong interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, or learning differences. I understand how masking, sensory sensitivity, and executive-functioning challenges can affect daily life and self-esteem. My neuroaffirming and holistic approach emphasizes self-understanding, acceptance, and practical strategies for living authentically in a world not always designed for neurodivergent minds.

Anxiety and Intersections:  Anxiety often overlaps with developmental trauma, neurodivergence, and hormonal or reproductive changes such as PMDD, PCOS, or perimenopause. It can show up as chronic worry, perfectionism, irritability, or physical tension. Together, we uncover the roots of anxiety and build mind-body regulation tools to reduce overwhelm, restore calm, and foster resilience.
